Privacy Policy
Effective July 10, 2026
This privacy policy covers the Rock Picker mobile application, created by Alexandra Stroulger (Astro Apps). Rock Picker is a tool for farm crews to log rock locations in fields and mark them picked. It is built to collect as little as possible: there are no user accounts, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking of any kind.
What the app collects
The app stores only what is needed for crews to share rock locations:
- A name you type in. Free text, used only to label who logged or picked each rock. It is not verified and can be anything you like.
- Your farm's shared code. Used to scope which farm's rocks you can see and edit.
- Rock pins. The map locations you place by tapping, their status (logged, picked, not found), and the time and name attached to each action.
That's the full list. The app collects no email address, no phone number, no contacts, no photos, no advertising identifiers, and no usage analytics.
Device location
With your permission, the app uses your device's location while the app is open for two things: showing where you are on the field map, and centering map downloads on your area. Your location is used on the device only — it is never stored or sent to our servers. Rock positions are placed by tapping the map, not from GPS. You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings; the map still works without it.
Where your data lives
Data is saved on your device first, so the app works fully offline. When a connection is available, rock pins sync to a hosted database (Supabase) so the rest of your crew sees them. Anyone who has your farm's code can see and edit that farm's rocks — treat the code like a shared password.
Third-party services
- Supabase stores synced farm data (rock pins, names, timestamps). See the Supabase privacy policy.
- Mapbox provides the satellite map imagery. Mapbox may collect limited device and usage data to operate its service, as described in the Mapbox privacy policy.
We do not sell or share your information with anyone else, and no third party uses it for advertising.
Data retention & deletion
Uninstalling the app removes all data stored on your device, including downloaded map tiles. Synced rock data stays with the farm so the rest of the crew keeps working. To have a name or a farm's data removed from the server, email alex@astroapps.dev and it will be handled within a reasonable time.
Children
Rock Picker is a farm work tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a new effective date.
